Fractional Laser Resurfacing
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is a revolutionary laser technology utilizing Lumenis DeepFX and ActiveFX to help restore aged, sun-damaged or scarred skin. The low-downtime procedure uses fractional CO2 laser microbeams to precisely target the deep dermal layers of the skin. This stimulates a cascade of healing responses that leads to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation throughout the entire treatment area. And because only a fraction of the skin is actually touched by the laser, healing time can be limited to just a few days. The flexibility of this technology means that whether your skin requires simple healing, or deeper fractional rejuvenation, Fractional Laser Resurfacing has an application that is right for you - consult the experts at Apre Medical Spa to find out how you can benefit most!
Treatment Benefits
- Causes immediate collagen contraction.
- Reduces wrinkles and fine lines, and softens deeper frown lines.
- Noticeably improves skin tone and texture.
- Stimulates new collagen formation and plumps the skin.
Results of treatment can be maximized with proper sun protection. Most effects of treatment become visible right away, whereas others—such as new collagen formation—build up gradually and results in continued smoothing over time. Therefore, most people continue to show improvement up to six months after the procedure.
Who can get a Fractional Laser Resurfacing treatment?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is safe for most people; however it shouldn't be used if you have taken Accutane™ in the past 12 months, have a history of keloid formation, have a history of poor wound healing, or demonstrate excessive or unusually prolonged erythema, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation upon laser test patching. Lumenis One® Photorejuvenation is a true fourth generation Intense Pulsed Light system with patented state of the art technology which optimizes power, pulsing and light delivery to provide maximum results, comfort and safety. Lumenis invented IPL and continues to perfect it.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
Photorejuvenation ONE with the Lumenis One system can be used to treat any area of the body. The most common areas are the face, neck, chest and hands.
Lumenis One delivers a special range of wavelengths of light in customizable pulses through a sapphire tip gently onto your skin. The light is absorbed either superficially by broken capillaries and dark pigment or deeper by larger vessels and collagen. Dilated capillaries coagulate, pigmented lesions darken and then slough off and new collagen fibers are laid down, giving the skin a renewed and more youthful appearance.
How is Photorejuvenation ONE Performed?
A cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated, and you may be given dark glasses or goggles to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth, cold surface of the Lumenis One IPL handpiece is gently touched to your skin and pulses of light are applied.
Each treatment typically takes about 20 minutes. In general, excellent long term results can usually be achieved with a series of four to six treatments.
Hair Removal With the Lumenis LightSheer
LightSheer™ Diode Laser is the world’s most advanced treatment for effective removal of unwanted hair.
- State Of The Art
- Less Discomfort
- Little-to-no Downtime
- Cooling Handpiece
- Effective on many skin and hair types
The LightSheer diode laser is a state-of-the-art system specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, with less discomfort and more reliably than other methods.
About the Lumenis LightSheer Diode Laser Treatment
A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted by the LightSheer diode laser is well absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles.
During the procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, long enough to heat up the hair and significantly impede the follicle’s ability to re-grow. This process also treats numerous hair follicles simultaneously. Therefore, LightSheer is appropriate for treating even the largest areas of the body both quickly and effectively.
Why use a Contact-Cooling Handpiece?
An important part of the procedure is the cooling of the skin. A special contact-cooling handpiece allows your physician to treat even the most sensitive skin. It protects and cools the upper layer of the skin before, during and after each laser pulse while directing the laser energy to the hair root.
It is important to know that the hairs in an active growth phase (referred to as anagen) are most affected by the laser. As all hairs are not in this phase at the same time, more than one treatment may be necessary to achieve the best result.
